Accessibility
This website aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This page lists what is in place, what is still missing, and where to report a problem. It covers the website, not the desktop app.
What is in place
- Links and buttons are native controls, so the keyboard reaches them. A skip link jumps past the header to the page.
- Escape closes the language menu. In the feature tabs, the arrow keys, Home and End move between features. The recording viewer is a native dialog, which Escape closes.
- Keyboard focus shows a visible outline on every control.
- Clips play only while they are in view, and each one shows a still image until you press play. If your system asks for less motion, nothing plays on its own, and transitions and animations are switched off.
- Every picture and recording has alt text written from the app's own screen. Decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- Each page declares its language, and the language menu names each one in its own script.
- Text colors meet at least 4.5 to 1 against their background in both light and dark themes.
- Wide tables scroll inside a box that takes keyboard focus.
What is still missing
- The recordings have no sound, so they have no captions or transcripts. Each one has alt text that says what it shows.
- The hero and feature recordings show text being typed into the app. The alt text describes the typing, but the typed words are not on the page as text.
- Automated checks run on every build: axe-core on the home, download, models and accessibility pages and two wiki pages, and page width, target size and heading order on every page type. They cannot catch everything, so some problems still need a person to find them.
